About Fishless Fuel

Establishing a healthy biological filter is essential for any aquatic system. Fritz Fishless Fuel eliminates the guesswork and hassle of what to use to feed nitrifying bacteria if dry ammonium chloride powders or other sources of ammonia, using fish feed or other organic materials and leaving them to decompose. When using Fritz Fishless Fuel, it is also not necessary to potentially endanger fish to cycle aquariums. Fishless Fuel, in addition to having a source of pure liquid ammonia, has everything you need to feed your nitrifying bacteria. This way you can feed your nitrifying bacteria to establish a strong and healthy biological filter. The practical dropper bottle simplifies dosing.

The Fritz Fishless Fuel formula contains 40 mg / ml of TAN (Total Ammonia Nitrogen).

DO NOT USE FISHLESS FUEL IN ANY AQUARIUM CONTAINING FISH OR INVERTEBRATES. DO NOT INTRODUCE ANY FISH OR INVERTEBRATE TO AN AQUARIUM THAT HAS AMMONIA OR MEASURABLE NITRITE.

Dosage

To bring the aquarium to 2 ppm ammonia: add 4 drops for every 3.8 L or 1 teaspoon (5 ml) for every 94.6 L of aquarium water.

Fritz Fishless Fuel Ammonia Solution should be used when cycling without fish or invertebrates. Add the required amount of Fritz Fishless Fuel Liquid Ammonia Solution to achieve the desired ammonia level (Fritz recommends 2-4 ppm). After adding ammonia, add FritzZyme nitrifying bacteria and test for Ammonium and Nitrite daily. Once the ammonia and nitrite levels are at zero, fish can be safely introduced. Continue to check for ammonia and nitrite on a regular basis.

DO NOT USE WHEN THERE ARE FISH OR INVERTEBRATES.

Frequent questions:

1.- When should I add Fishless Fuel to the aquarium after adding nitrifying bacteria?

Nitrifying bacteria need ammonia and other trace elements to survive, so add Fishless Fuel within 24 hours of adding the bacteria.

2.- Does it matter if I first add the nitrifying bacteria or the Fishless Fuel?

No, you can add bacteria or ammonia in any order.

3.- My nitrifying bacteria converted all the ammonia, but I still have nitrites, what do I do?

In cycling, the nitrite conversion phase occurs slightly slower than the ammonia conversion phase. If the nitrite level cannot be brought down to a safe level with a water change, you will need to add more Fishless fuel within 24 hours after the ammonia reaches zero to prevent bacteria from dying. Use a lower concentration (1 ppm or less) of boost during the nitrite phase.

4.- My cycle is complete, but I am not ready to introduce fish. What should I do?

If you are not ready to introduce fish within 3 days or 72 hours after the completion of your cycling (Ammonium = 0, Nitrite = 0 and Nitrate already available), you will need to redose with Fishless Fuel to avoid the death of bacteria nitrifying agents.
